Diamond
Quality Reports
Ideally, diamonds over 0.50ct in weight should have an independent
Diamond Quality Report. This is a comprehensive analysis
of the stone by suitably qualified Diamond Graders, before
it is set into the piece of jewellery. It involves checking
that the stone is not synthetic, and that it has not undergone
any of a number of treatments to artificially enhance its
quality. Then the four Cs of Carat, Colour, Clarity, & Cut
are assessed. It is most important that this is done while
the stone is loose because once a diamond is mounted the
accuracy of any subsequent assessment is severely restricted.
